Have you ever wondered what the difference is between all the different types of hearing aids?
This can be a bit of a tricky question because hearing aids come in 5 basic sizes and shapes but in hundreds of different technology levels.
Size is simply the outside shape of the hearing aid - Completely in Canal (CIC), In the Canal (ITC), In the Ear (ITE), Behind the Ear (BTE), Receiver in Canal (RIC) and On the Ear or Open Fit (OTE).
Those are just the shapes what you really need to pay attention beyond what is cosmetically appealing to you is the technology level.
The shape should be the last thing on your checklist of what you want out of your hearing aid.
Think about what you want to hear, what your lifestyle includes, the severity of your hearing loss and last but certainly not least the amount of money you are willing to pay for things that you want.
Don't get bogged down in brand names - have you ever really read the label on someone else's hearing aids?
Look at the company and their technology and ask if it has what you want?
